8.1 Why Track or Monitor your Site's Traffic ?

Knowing how your site is performing enables you to optimise your site for visitors, to make considered changes based on evidence.

Business success comes through knowing your visitors. One of my sites is popular with Tertiary study students in College and University in the USA. Lecturers also use the site.

This is gleaned from the seasonality of visits, the keywords used to find the site, email feedback ...

This helps my writing as I picture my average visitor. It also impacts on products produced, and how the site develops.

Knowledge is power over your business, your ability to control it and you start to work ON your business.
